With the holidays so close I thought I would share some festive tips & tricks for decorating and entertaining on a budget for the Christmas season. Everything showcased is from your local Dollar Store right here in Durham Region! If you haven’t visited a Dollar Store recently I think that you will be amazed and impressed with what you can find.
Here’s just a few ideas to inspire you! Have fun shopping!
Photo 1 – Ice Inspired Table Centrepiece – A red charger holds a glass vase filled with cellophane & styrofoam red berries (you can use real cranberries also). Scrunch up the cellophane, place in vase, add berries & water and you have a quick & easy festive centrepiece that looks like ice!
Photo 2 – Some great finds….an array of Christmas items great for gift giving or for you to use over the holidays.
Photo 3 – Don’t forget to check out the food aisle at the Dollar Store where you will find food from Italy, France & Belgium just to name a few of the countries. Everything from chocolate spoons, mini biscotti, truffles to yogurt pretzels…….they even have parchment paper!
Photo 4 – More great festive products……………….
Photo 5 – Here is one of my favorite appetizer recipes…………Tortilla Roll Ups
It is such an easy appetizer to make & really delicious: purchase large tortilla shells (red or green are nice for Xmas). Mix cream cheese, ranch dressing, chopped green onions, red or green peppers, dried cranberries in a bowl. Spread onto tortilla & roll up. Refridgerate. Make the day before – slice just before serving. Enjoy! I make this all year round for my guests to enjoy.
I’d like to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas from my home to yours,
