The Benefits of Natural Cleaning Products

I know you’ve heard about Green Cleaning Products.  What are the benefits?  The many benefits afforded by the use of natural cleaning products typically break down into three groups: the impact of natural cleaning products on the global environment, the impact of natural cleaning products on the local environment and the health benefits potentially gained from the use of natural cleaners.

Natural Cleaning Products and the Global Environment

The global environment is an intricate system. Many modern human beings are concerned with the effect their lifestyle may have on the environment as a whole. The use of natural cleaning products lowers the overall amount of toxins in water supplies, soils and air contents. The use of these cleaners the world over should, over time, lessen the impact of toxins released by humans in the global environment

Natural Cleaning Products and the Local Environment

A local environment is an easier environment to see the immediate results of natural cleaning product use. Changing cleaning products used in and around the home lessens toxin levels that have built up over years of common cleaning product use. As these toxin levels are reduced, many results are observed. The use of natural cleaners outdoors results in lowered toxin levels in the soils and the air around the home. These lowered toxin levels likely result in healthier plants and lawns, especially when combined with natural plant foods and bug killers. The most common side effect reported by those who switch to natural cleaning products, according to the experts, is an improved health for those residing in local environments where natural cleaners are put into use.

Natural Cleaning Products and Health

Many common cleaning products are now proven to worsen or cause allergic reactions in children and adults. Government Health Agencies have even linked many childhood asthma causes to several common cleaning agents sold and used in North America, and yet these products are still on the market. Beside allergy issues, the use of common cleaning products also contributes to the development of cancer, and impacts the immune system.  Because of these reasons, it is widely believed that the use of natural cleaning products is of great benefit to the health of those living in or around environments cleaned with natural cleaners.
Natural Cleaning Options:

Vinegar naturally cleans like an all-purpose cleaner. Mix a solution of 1 part water to 1 part vinegar in a new store bought spray bottle and you have a solution that will clean most areas of your home. Vinegar is a great natural cleaning product as well as a disinfectant and deodorizer.

Cut a lemon in half and sprinkle baking soda on the cut section. Use the lemon to scrub dishes, surfaces, and stains. Mix 1 cup olive oil with ½ cup lemon juice and you have a furniture polish for your hardwood furniture.

Baking soda can be used to scrub surfaces in much the same way as commercial abrasive cleansers.
